**HISTORY** **** The Old Bakehouse dates back to 1670, with evidence of the bakery still providing bread for the village as recently as 1916. It is part of a number of services that were offered in the High Street including a forge, police house, wheelright and public house. The original baking kilns are still in situ to the rear of the house, whilst the oven recesses still visible in the kitchen. The Stables provided accommodation for the cart horses to collect flour from nearby mills.
