RUSWARP
Ruswarp lies just 1.8 miles from Whitby. This charming village has a railway station, from where trains operating on the Esk Valley Line regularly stop, and the Heritage Steam Trains from Pickering and Whitby pass through. Amenities include a Primary school, church and local shops - the most well-known being the A.P Jackson Butchers which is known to many who live in Ruswarp, Whitby and the surrounding villages as being the best butchers in the whole area. The Bridge Inn is a friendly pub serving food and overlooking both the river and railway line. The village lies on the national hiking trail and the walk to Whitby is undemanding along a stone pannier way named ' Monks Trod'.
